Soup Run PDF Print E-mail

Victory Gospel Church Soup Run commenced in September 1990 sending a team of 4 out into the inner-city, one evening a week. The following year this increased to two evenings a week as the need for food and the number of homeless people met increased. Initially under the banner of Victory Gospel Church Pastoral Care programme, the Soup Run now ministers under the heading of Victory Highway Ministries and has expanded to include the day-centre ministry "pit- stop". The Soup Run team who are all committed Christians meet at the Church and then drive in the Church mini bus to various ‘stops' around Southampton city, where the homeless are found sleeping or sitting. The team follow strict guidelines for their own safety, as drug addicts in particular can be very demanding or even aggressive.

Through our various outreach projects we are making a real difference
in peoples lives. Take time to browse through the pages in this section
